Fin Min: Authorities decide to cancel LTE benefits in 2024
MOSCOW, Dec 12 (PRIME) -- The government has decided to cancel the benefits for LTE (4G) in 2024 and invest the money in connection development, including in Russia’s Far East, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said late on Monday.
“We spoke about additional money for the Internet…We decided to cancel the benefits on LTE connection next year. We agreed with colleagues from the Digital Development Ministry to spend the certain freed resource on development of connection, including in such regions as Chukotka and Yakutia,” Siluanov said.
“The matter of availability of the Internet will be settled next year. We will find the resource for it,” the minister added.
The Digital Development Ministry in early November released a bill lifting the discount for the operators for payment of LTE frequencies in 2024.
